AMBASSADOR CYNTHIA NYONGESA

1/30/2016

My name is Cynthia Nyongesa and I am a 19 year student currently pursuing Neuroscience at Pomona College here in sunny California. From the beautiful beaches in Mombasa to the breathtaking scenery in Maasai Mara and the rich culture of the Swahili people, what is there not to love about Kenya. Being born raised in Kenya has taught me life lessons that I will not be able to find anywhere else in the world. I like to think that there is something magical about Kenya because it has not yet failed to breed some of the most amazing people I look up to in the world today, one of them being my mother. My mother has helped me become the strong, passionate woman I am today with never ending goals and dreams. However, Kenya has taught me to chase those dreams without a single fear in my mind and for this I am forever greatful. If there is one thing that has proven to always be true throughout my 19 years of existence it is that there really is no place like home and for this reason "najivunia kuwa mkenya."

My charity of choice is International Association of Arts in Healthcare: Kenya
