My name is Diana Muhoro. A young female Montessori teacher based in Texas full of faith, passion and zeal. Being a Kenyan American causes me to remain passionate about my beautiful mother land and stay connected to my roots. For more than 10 years, I’ve had the honor and privilege of working with the young people. I’ve passionately served as an advocate for those who are underserved in St. Louis, Kansas, Texas, California, New Jersey, New York and my beautiful country Kenya. I’ve also had the opportunity to serve with AmeriCorps in helping rebuild communities in Brooklyn, a Youth Director in the NJ local chapter for the Kenyan Christian Fellowship Kenyan Community, Refill Ministries, the Kenya Diaspora Community, and also volunteered with Charity; Water helping provide clean water and build wells across the nations. When I am not teaching or volunteering, you’ll find me emerged in the arts of writing, acting, singing, dancing and cooking among many other passions.  Am humbled and honored that I still get to represent my beautiful country in my everyday life while still exercising the act of service through my non-profit organization; Abandon No One (ANO). My mission has always been to Educate, Empower & Elevate all people across the different cultures through the education and the arts.

Serving is and will always be part of me. This year I am honored and humbled to be  part of this great platform which embodies the true meaning of giving back and building each other. I'll get to  serve hand in hand with a non-profit organization that’s very dear to my heart. I have partnered up with Mama Mary ;founder of Gladways Center School. She has rescued abandoned children and  children who have been mistreated and abused. Many of these children are coming from homes that are stricken with HIV. Others are raised by single parents or come from jobless homes where food is scarce. Therefore, I am asking for your  help to help bring the resources that this organization needs to better serve the children of this community. My goal is to raise $30,000  which will help us obtain the necessary land to rebuild a safe home and school, along with food,  beds, and the remaining tools & resources needed to provide for all the children crying out for help. Our goal is to cater to the children’s needs by providing a SAFE environment for them to call home, create an environment where they will receive  EDUCATION and create a SYSTEM that will help them become even more self-sufficient in the future.  We want to impact the youth in Kenya.

Having the experience as an educator in the U.S calls me to advocate for our children's rights back home in Kenya and ensure that they  also get to receive high quality education. I totally believe that their dreams are valid too. I am so humbled that I get to have this great opportunity to join this great platform and continue to represent such a beautiful country; my motherland KENYA.  Taking on this journey is and will always be beyond the crown for me. It's about service and being a voice to the voiceless. This is for every boy child and girl child. For every child who has feared to stand out because of what they've gone through. For every child who has ever been abandoned. This is for you. I know & believe that this will create many other avenues for partnership & growth for our beautiful country Kenya. And that will make us even more stronger and unify us as a people and remind us that we are ONE body & each part has been uniquely created by a perfect God with perfect hands for a perfect purpose. I love my country and take pride in representing Kenya. In so many ways I embody the beauty of Kenya and all that our land has to offer and will humbly continue to do so fervently. I am Diana Muhoro; Face of Kenya 2018.❤️

Yours sincerely.

My aspiration in life is to not only change the dynamic within the arts and education system but by also making a difference in society by helping those dire need with more than just basic necessities but long term solutions.
