I am Elyne, 18years old and a student at the FOS in Bavaria. I was born in Mombasa, Kenya and moved to germany at the age of . I like dancing and photography. My ambition is to encourage and help people as good as I can. My mother and I founded a charity organisation named Talanta Youth Football Club in the year 2013. One of the reasons why I am participating in the Face of Kenya is to be able to assist this non profit organisation which gives the youth opportunities to extend their talent in football. Our biggest support has been from the football clubs here in germany that gives us time to time training outfits, and other sports equipment. During the years the youth have also profited in receiving medical facilities and education. Apart from the football clubs support, my dance group La familia has also been of great support. My mother has been of great support too through her catering skills selling meals at events. I am happy when I visit the village back home in Kenya, seeing the people happy to have a borehole and can easily access water after we drilled them a borehole.
I personally assist a girl in Kongowea mombasa living with sickle cell anaemia. Being in that condition I know and understand very well the challenges she goes through.
Kenya can be much more than it is today, there is alot of potential, what lacks in the many opportunities like we have here in Europe. With the participation at The Face of Kenya Germany, I would given the chance, like to mentor more youth to get out and use the talents that they have, to grab the opportunities around them to make it in life. We have it all there, so why not mentor and nurture our own.
I am proud to say that I am Kenyan.
