I am a graduate of the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin. I pursued a Master’s in Management specializing in Business Analytics. Before my master’s I pursued a Bachelor of Science Computer Science at Ashesi University in Ghana. I come from Kakamega county located in the Western part of Kenya. In my earlier years, I was brought up in a small village named “Nang’eni”. Given the conditions around me then, I had no choice but to work hard to secure a place at Starehe Girls’ Centre (a national high school) where I was educated throughout my high school. Starehe brought out the best in me, meeting other brilliant Kenyans from diverse backgrounds, I learnt at a very young age the power of diversity and especially from young brilliant minds. Given the constant care and mentorship, access to resources, the opened opportunities that were presented to me while studying at the school, quality education was not a question any more. I imagine how many young Kenyans yearn for the same opportunity, but it is only available for the few outstanding students. Given that, I would want to see another girl and boy have quality education through these prestigious high schools. Starehe Girls’ and Boys’ not only offers quality education but natures the students right when they start their high school education to be responsible leaders.
