Why do I love Kenya, where do I even begin. Love is not simple or one sided, it can not just be said but must be exemplified. It is this same emotion of love that caused Jesus to die on the cross and expereince excruciating pain, ridicule and death. I do not know if I can truly and completely write what I love about the beautiful country of kenya, but I can tell you a glimpse of why I fell so deeply for my country. When people outside of Africa think of Kenya they think of an impoverished and underdeveloped country that is in constant need of assistance. I dont know how many times I have heard comments that have belittled our country. But sadly they do not see the beauty of Kenya. I am not just taking about the landscape ,but the beauty of its people. I grew up seeing Kenyans coming to America with nothing in their pockets and watching them fight, struggle and succeed in this country. Leaving their lives and familes behind to build a stronger future. It took not only faith, but strength for them to make that leap. That strength is the same strength that Kenya has. The strength to be able to have to learn a new way of life, a new language and build a new family. You asked what I love about Kenya It is its strength You can never love and care for anything unless you are strong enough to hold it strong enough to fight for it , strong enough to believe in it That strength and the ferocious love and faith is in its people. That strength is what runs through my veins that strength is Kenya.
