AMBASSADOR NEEMA AOKO FACE OF KENYA USA 2018

My name is Neema Aoko, am 24 years old and currently in college trying to get credits to transfer and get my bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I have a soft spot for children therefore in future i would like to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).It has been a passion of mine ever since i cant remember. I have a heart of helping, so they say and so i know. Kenya is where i was born and grew up in, it is where i long to go and settle down when am done with my education. It is where my heart belongs, the beauty in it is breathtaking. The love there is one of a kind, one that you can never find anywhere else, don’t get me wrong, i only meant east or west, home is best.

I like getting involved, especially in anything that involves helping and giving back to the community. When you are abroad, most of the times it is very easy for one to forget about home and lose oneself. engaging in social activities and community forums like Face of Kenya can help one stay connected to our home.

I have a lot of plans for Kenya, but mostly i wanted to concentrate on beginning with my hometown, where i was born and grew up in. It is a very small town with a lot of potential among the children and youth.as Whitney Houston’s says in her song, i believe the children are our future. I want to majorly focus on talent and education among kids and youth. I personally sing, though i haven’t ventured deeply into it, am still taking singing classes.

For now, i teamed up with Moving Mountains Organization that works in Nepal and East Africa on education, health and social welfare on a new project that involves Malunga Primary School in my home district. They lack a lot of basic necessities and i mainly want to raise funds for a source of water in the school with tap waters around the school. With that, children will be able to have clean drinking water at their reach any time they are thirsty. After a successful installation, i will also like to build a library for them and even have sports and activity equipment to make the kids active and able to explore their abilities and talents.
