Who is Sonnie Njau?

My name is Sonnie Njau and I am a Proud born and raised Kenyan. I currently reside in Dallas Texas. I am a college student pursing Actuarial Science, a community organizer and a social innovator. I have two younger brothers whom without them, I would not be who I am today. I applaud my parents for bringing them up to be Great Protectors and Leaders of our societies.
I am very passionate on women rights and equality. The stripping of women in Kenya and in Zimbabwe last year was very devastating. I decided that silence was not an option. I furthered our President's Uhuru Kenyatta's "Heforshe" Campaign in the diaspora and named it "Heforshediaspora". It took the stripping of women in Kenya to realize the root cause of violence against women and girls in our nation.
I strongly believe that the root problem of these atrocities in our society have resulted from neglecting the young boy child. With the help of a nonprofit incubation program, I started structuring a non profit organization called "Solid Voices". Solid Voices is a Solidarity movement whose mission is to Unite the Genders to encourage and engage the Great Men in our society to stand up and be our voices by Inspiring, Motivating , Educating and Mentoring the young boy therefore Empowering them into Great Leaders and Protectors in our society. Our Motto is "MenImpactChange".  In my organization, We equip these young boys with personal development and leadership skills, Physical Development through sports as well as Emotional Intelligence and sensitizing the young boy on the challenges that our women experience.
We create awareness through the use of creative arts and films. Please watch this 6min film that we produced in December 2014 and that is currently going viral:

As the president of this organization, I am constantly involved in personal development training as well. I had the opportunity to attend leadership training sessions by Donald Trump and Darren Hardy of Success Magazine. I also work very closely with Diaspora based organizations like the East Africa Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to create coalition between our people in Kenya and our people in the diaspora through economically empowering member communities  through entrepreneurship, consulting and promoting trade opportunities in both U.S and E.A via interaction with both regions businesses and governmental regions.  EACC has been our biggest donor in empowering of the young boys.
If we empower the young boy, The chances are that the next generation will have Great Leaders that will Protect, Honor and Respect our women.
Solid Voices will be supporting a project called , "SEMA- Mapenzi Bila Chuki" ( Swahili  for Speak- Love with No Hate) . SEMA is under a Kenyan based nonprofit organization called "ServantForges".  We will  be supporting a 15 year old boy who's name is Calvin  Bulunya , a form 1 student at Akiba School, a charity based school, which is located in the slums of Kangemi in Kenya. Calvin's father abandoned the family. His mother has been struggling to feed her two children. His mother has casual jobs which is not enough to bring food to the table as well as educate the children. Please visit my gofund me account to help raise funds for Calvin Bulunya's education. http://www.gofundme.com/pu5a84
Please see more of  project 'SEMA's" work here: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=753887238006147&set=vb.591295237598682&type=2&theater
The full potential of World's young women can only be realized by the young men being part of the empowerment of young women. By being Miss Face of Kenya USA, I will raise awareness to the importance of the Boy child in our society. My organization will be a step closer to transforming our developing Nation into a Power Nation.
