- As my parents were sitting watching the 5 o'clock news, they were surprised to here that our home town" Bakersfield" was hosting a Special Olympic team from Kenya in our local university CSUB. They immediately made a decision to go and meet them. It was late in the evening when they saw them and the sad news was that he could not treat them for nyama choma because it was their last day in Bakersfield. However, my dad, Face of Kenya USA manager Wacu Ndirangu and I, decided to meet them at UCLA where they were residing until the games are over. It was a wonderful experience to meet the athletes. They were humbled and ready to show their talents to the world. We talked a lot about Kenya, their trip to America and a little bit of compare and contrast between both countries.
- Kenya Special Olympics team won 22 gold medals, 2 Silver and 13 Bronze.
- I want to thank the director Mr. John Makathimo and his team for letting us interact and take wonderful pictures. I would love to meet them during my visit to Kenya.
